Since 2006, the non-profit 501C3 PetFix mobile clinic has made spay/neuter services affordable and accessible to low-income owners, feral and free-roaming cat caregivers, and agencies offering dogs and cats for adoption throughout northeast Ohio. The PetFix goal is a world in which every cat and dog born has a loving home. PetFix surgeons are on target to perform their 10,000th surgery this summer. PetFix Northeast Ohio is holding a photo contest to select the area’s coolest cat & dog to grace the invitation and program covers for Fixations: His & Hers, their annual summer benefit. The winning pets will each receive a free sitting at Clifford Norton Studio for their cover shot, pre-sitting mini-makeover at the Barkley Pet Hotel & Day Spa, VIP invitations to the event for their owners and a basket filled with wonderful toys and treats.
All entered photos will be displayed at the event. All entrants will receive a coupon for 50% off a sitting fee at Clifford Norton for the entered pet along with a pre-sitting mini-makeover at the Barkley.
The deadline to enter is April 25. Judges are Pulitzer Prize winning Associated Press photographer Amy Sancetta and Canine University owner Amy Gutmann. Winners will be announced to the media on May 1. The entry fee is $10 per pet. Entry forms are available at the PetFix website, petfixnortheastohio.org, or by calling the PetFix hotline, 216.536.0930.
Fixations: His & Hers, an evening for men and women to indulge in all sorts of personal fixations, will be held at Hillbrook Club on Wednesday, July 22. Aveda and John Roberts Salon will present mini-makeovers, consultations, massage and other luxurious spa services. There will be informal fashions from Anne Van H. Boutique. In addition, there will be such fixations as a golf swing analysis by a touring pro, putting contest, free throw contest, opportunity to test out a hot car, wine tasting, and a display of classic cars. A highlight of the evening, as always, will be the makeover of shelter dogs for adoption by the Barkley.
